Three themes through the season
More than 5 million lights decorate the gardens, almost all of them LEDs. There are three themes through the season:
- Oct 17 – mid-November: Light and flower collaboration – fusion of light and amethyst sage
- Late November – late December: Flower Park Christmas – Christmas Fantasy
- New Year's Day – Feb 14: New Year Illumination – lights and winter-blooming peonies
The park is one of Japan's "three great illuminations": it was re-certified in November 2025, its third time on the list.
Getting there
- Train: About 3 minutes on foot from JR Ashikaga Flower Park Station (Ryomo Line). From Ueno, take the JR Tohoku Line to Oyama and change to the Ryomo Line.
- Car: About 20 minutes from Sano-Fujioka IC on the Tohoku Expressway. Parking is free.
