When: 2026 event dates

DisneySea's Coco-inspired Lazos de la Familia runs two days past the main Halloween event, closing November 2 rather than October 31 — worth knowing if you're planning a very-early-November trip and hoping to still catch it. Detailed 2026 daily programming for Lazos de la Familia and Disneyland's villains' entertainment had not yet been published in full on the official site as of this writing; check tokyodisneyresort.jp closer to September for the finalized schedule.

Full-costume rules, explained

Tokyo Disney Resort's costume policy is the detail most guests get wrong, so read this before you pack a costume:

• Full, head-to-toe character costumes are allowed only on the dates above — September 15–30 and October 16–31, 2026. Outside those windows, and outside the Halloween season entirely, only accessories and Disney-themed clothing are permitted, not full costumes.
• The rule applies to guests of middle-school age and older. Younger children have historically had more flexibility with costume-style clothing; if you're bringing a young child in a full costume outside the confirmed windows, check the official costume rules page for the current age cutoff before your trip.
• Eligible characters are limited to a specific list: characters who appear at Tokyo Disneyland, Tokyo DisneySea, and the Disney Hotels; performers in the parks' entertainment programs; and characters from works on the official "costume-eligible works list" published by Tokyo Disney Resort. Costumes of characters outside that list (including many non-Disney franchises) are not permitted.
• There's no in-park changing room for everyday use. Arrive already dressed — do your hair, makeup, and costume change at home or your hotel before entering the park. Tokyo Disney Resort has said a paid, reservation-based changing space will be announced separately closer to the season; it was not yet bookable as of July 2026.
• Full rules on prohibited items (weapon-style props, masks that fully cover the face, oversized costumes that block sightlines) are listed on the official costume page — worth a skim even if you've costumed at TDR before, since the list is updated each year.

Tickets: what to know before you book

Tokyo Disney Resort tickets are sold for a specific calendar date and priced on a variable, date-based system with roughly five pricing tiers from lowest to peak demand. As of July 2026, one-day passports for adults run from about ¥7,900 up to roughly ¥10,900 on the highest-demand dates, with lower junior (12–17) and child (4–11) tiers. Halloween-season entertainment at both parks is included in standard park admission — there's no separate Halloween ticket.

Two booking notes specific to this event:

1. Weekends inside the costume windows (Sept 19–20, Sept 26–27, Oct 17–18, Oct 24–25, and Oct 30–31) tend to sell out fastest, both for park capacity and for the higher price tiers — book as early as your travel dates allow.

Getting there

Both parks are reached via the JR Keiyo/Musashino Line to Maihama Station, then a short walk to Tokyo Disneyland or a transfer to the Disney Resort Line monorail on to Tokyo DisneySea.
