Background & story
Tokyo Christmas Market recreates the centuries-old German Weihnachtsmarkt tradition in Tokyo. The towering wooden Christmas pyramid, chalet-style stalls and mug-served Glühwein are hallmarks of the markets of Nuremberg and Stuttgart. Having moved between central Tokyo parks — Hibiya Park, Meiji Jingu Gaien and Shiba Park — it has grown into one of the city's best-loved winter traditions. For 2026 it moves to Shin-Toyosu on the bay.
Tokyo Christmas Market 2026 will be held at two venues — Shin-Toyosu and Shiba Park (Onarimon Station Plaza), as announced by the organizers on 15 September 2026.

Tokyo Christmas Market has previously been held in central Tokyo parks including Hibiya Park, Meiji Jingu Gaien and Shiba Park. For 2026 it moves to Shin-Toyosu — according to the organizers, this is the first time the event is held in the bayside area.

What each venue offers
Shin-Toyosu is being designed around the open sky and waterfront that are unique to the bayside area — a completely different setting from the central-city parks used until now.
Shiba Park is the traditional German market, gathering crafts and culture from cities across Germany. It centres on a Christmas pyramid roughly 14 metres tall, built in the Dresden tradition, with Tokyo Tower as the backdrop.
The organizers describe the two contrasting venues as together forming "a Christmas unique to Tokyo".
Not yet announced
Ticket prices, on-sale dates, the theme of each venue and the list of stalls have not been announced. The organizers say details "will be announced once decided". Check the official site for confirmed information.
