Japanese Grand Prix 2027 at Suzuka: 9–11 April, Japan’s First F1 Sprint, Tickets on Sale 15 Nov

The 2027 Japanese Grand Prix takes place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 April 2027 at Suzuka Circuit, and for the first time in its history the weekend includes an F1 Sprint. Tickets go on sale on Sunday 15 November 2026 at 11:00 Japan time on MobilityStation, the circuit's official ticket site. The West Area ticket costs ¥22,000 for an adult.

F1 lists the race as the FORMULA 1 LENOVO JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2027, Round 4 of the season, between Australia (2–4 April) and China (16–18 April). This page sticks to what Formula 1 and Suzuka Circuit have published: the dates, the new Sprint format, when and where to buy tickets, what they cost and what changes for 2027 (checked 2026-10-14).

The first F1 Sprint in Japan: what changes

A normal Grand Prix weekend has three practice sessions, qualifying and the race. A Sprint weekend has only one practice session, and points are on offer from Saturday. Suzuka Circuit and F1 give this order for 2027:

The Sprint is a short race of about 100 km — roughly a third of the Grand Prix distance and about 30 minutes long — with no mandatory pit stop. The top eight finishers score points, from 8 for the winner down to 1 for eighth. Sprint Qualifying is a shorter knockout (12, 10 and 8 minutes) that sets the Sprint grid; the official pole position still goes to the fastest driver in Saturday's Grand Prix Qualifying. Start times for each session will be published on the official timetable page once they are confirmed.

For spectators this means Friday is no longer just a practice day: Sprint Qualifying is a session that decides a grid.

Tickets: when, where and how much

On sale: Sunday 15 November 2026, 11:00 JST, on MobilityStation (Suzuka Circuit's official ticket site).

• First-time MobilityStation users need to register as a member in advance.
• On launch day the site sends buyers to a virtual waiting room to manage the rush, and for 2027 you must already be logged in to MobilityStation before you can enter that waiting room.
• West Area tickets only are also sold on Asoview! from Monday 16 November, 11:00 JST (no resale, upgrades or age changes there).
• MobilityStation cannot be used from some countries and regions; the circuit directs buyers there to F1 Tickets (https://ticketing.formula1.com/japan/).

What is new for 2027 tickets

According to the circuit's press release of 24 September 2026:

• Friday becomes reserved seating. Friday used to be unreserved in most stands; in 2027 it works like Saturday and Sunday, and every reserved seat is valid for all three days.
• A new "Ultra Outlet Seat" uses areas that were not sold before. The view is restricted, but you are close to the action.
• Ferris Wheel Lounge, a new hospitality space inside the FERRIS WHEEL FANZONE near the final corner, sold with an R-seat ticket.
• Seat layouts change in several stands (D, E, I, M, O, P, Q1 and V2) because of new temporary stands and re-zoned seat blocks, and in the G area an extra zone is now open to West Area ticket holders (the G stand itself stays reserved, from ¥24,000).
• New debris fences change the view of the track from some seats, including D and E.

Free entry for 16–23-year-olds

The official ticket page lists a "16-23 ZERO yen Pass" inviting people aged 16 to 23 free on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 April. Application details have not been announced yet (checked 2026-10-14).

Getting there

Suzuka Circuit published information on its reserved direct buses on 24 September 2026, and on 2 October 2026 it added temporary car parks (Suzuka University, Mother Sun Yutaka Giken Mie Plant and Shin-Misono) for advance parking tickets. Tips before you buy

• Register on MobilityStation before 15 November and log in before 11:00 on the day: for 2027 the virtual waiting room only admits logged-in users.
• With Friday now reserved, your seat is your seat for all three days — choose it knowing that Friday includes Sprint Qualifying.
