Yokohama's flagship full marathon since 2015, known for its stretch on the Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route (Wangan Line) and a harbourside route past the Red Brick Warehouse and Yamashita Park.
Yokohama Marathon 2026 is on Sunday 25 October 2026. The full marathon starts at 8:30 in front of Yokohama Landmark Tower and finishes at Pacifico Yokohama Waterfront Park (Rinko Park), with the race closing at 15:00. Runner entry has already closed. Full-marathon and pair-relay runners must be able to finish within six hours. There are cut-off checkpoints on the course, and runners who miss a cut-off time are disqualified; the checkpoint locations and times are in the Official Guide (yokohamamarathon.jp/officialguide/).
The course: running on the Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route (Wangan Line)
From Landmark Tower the full marathon passes Minato Mirai Ohashi Bridge, Pacifico Yokohama, the Red Brick Warehouse, Yamashita Park, Honmoku and Negishi, turns in front of the Yokohama Nanbu Market, then runs on the Shuto Expressway Bayshore Route (Wangan Line) (Sugita to Honmoku Wharf) back to Yamashita Park, the Red Brick Warehouse and Hammerhead before finishing at Pacifico Yokohama Waterfront Park. The organisers still list the course as "being adjusted", so the official course map is the reference.
Road closures
On race day local roads close from about 6:30 to 15:30 and the Shuto Expressway from about 4:00 to 16:30 (approximate times). The organisers ask people not to drive; plan on public transport. Area-by-area closure maps (Yokohama Station–Minato Mirai, Red Brick Warehouse–Yamashita Bridge, Honmoku, Negishi, Shin-Sugita and more) are on the official traffic page (yokohamamarathon.jp/traffic/).
Bib pickup
You collect your athlete bib the way you chose at entry. Day-before pickup is Saturday 24 October 2026, 10:00–18:00, at the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall (1-1-1 Minatomirai, Nishi-ku). There is no bib handover on race day. Paid advance delivery (Japan Post Yu-Pack) was scheduled to arrive between Monday 5 and Monday 12 October; if yours has not arrived, contact the Yokohama Marathon 2026 delivery call centre listed on the official bib-pickup page (yokohamamarathon.jp/bib-pickup-info/). Delivery is not available to addresses outside Japan (checked 2026-10-13).
Getting there
Both the start and the finish are closest to Minatomirai Station (Minatomirai Line) or JR Sakuragicho Station. At Minatomirai Station the elevator between the platforms and the central ticket-gate level is out of service from the first train on Tuesday 6 October 2026 until mid-December, so use the stairs or escalators; wheelchair and stroller users should ask station staff or a security guard for help. Expect crowded stations and allow extra time.
Watching the race
Cheering from the roadside is free. The official "ONLINE EXPO 2026" has a course video, a course map and recommended cheering spots.
