COMITIA 158 is Sunday 13 December 2026, 11:00–16:00

COMITIA 158 runs on Sunday 13 December 2026, 11:00–16:00, at Tokyo Big Sight, East Halls 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8. General attendees enter by buying the catalog, Tia's Magazine 158 — ¥1,400 in bookshops in advance, ¥1,500 at the venue — and under-12s get in free without one. The essentials

COMITIA 157 used the West halls plus South 3. COMITIA 158 is in the East halls. At Tokyo Big Sight those are physically separate buildings with different station exits, so don't navigate from memory of the last edition.

What you need to get in: the catalog

COMITIA does not sell a ticket. Every general attendee buys one copy of the catalog and shows it at the door — including on re-entry. A catalog with only the cover cut out, or one that has been taken apart, is not valid.

The organiser recommends buying in advance for two concrete reasons: it is ¥100 cheaper, and it lets you skip the catalog queue on the day. Stock does sell out at some bookshops soon after release, and mail-order closes around a week before the event, so buy early.

Each catalog carries one account code for the COMITIA Web Catalog — circle search, a checklist and a floor map — which is open from 14 November to 21 December 2026.

On the day

Doors open to general attendees at 11:00; before that you queue. The organiser explicitly asks people not to arrive late at night or very early in the morning, and queues formed before staff begin managing them can be voided.

The following was published as the COMITIA 157 operating procedure. The 158 version has not been announced yet (as of 8 September 2026), so treat it as background only:

• once the catalog sells out, a ¥1,500 "general attendee entry ticket" goes on sale
• after 15:00, entry is free for everyone, sold out or not
• when the event spans separate halls, re-entry passes are handed out so you can move between them without re-queuing

Because 158 occupies five East halls, queueing and hall-to-hall movement will be organised differently from 157. Check the official 158 guidance before you go.

Exhibiting

Applications close on 11 September 2026 (18:00 online, arrival deadline for post). Circle participants are not required to buy a catalog.

How COMITIA differs from Comiket

COMITIA accepts original work only — no derivative or fan works. The organiser deliberately calls what is sold there "self-published manga magazines" rather than doujinshi, because doujinshi carries a sense of being made for an inner circle, while COMITIA is framed as work offered to any reader. Same venue as Comiket, fundamentally different remit.

Getting there

Walk from Kokusai-Tenjijo Station (Rinkai Line) or Tokyo Big Sight Station (Yurikamome). Car parks near the venue are heavily congested on event days and the organiser asks attendees to use public transport.

Rules inside the venue (from the organiser)

• Cosplay is prohibited, including licensed characters, uniforms and revealing outfits
• No video recording or streaming. Photos need the subject's permission; no flash
• No smoking, no alcohol, no running, no sitting on the floor
• Under-18s may not buy or read adult-rated work (Tokyo ordinance)
• Banned items: flammables, weapons and replicas (wooden swords, model guns), pets other than assistance dogs, disinfectant alcohol over 500 ml
