Destacados
- Fan-shaped 'Ōgi-Neputa' floats up to 10m wide, lit from within, with mirror-image warrior art on the front and a 'mi-okuri-e' beauty painting on the back
- Dancers chant 'Yaa-ya-doh' to a driving taiko beat — a deliberately calmer rhythm than Aomori Nebuta's leaping 'Rassera' haneto
- The route changes daily: Dotemachi course Aug 1–4 & 7 (morning), Ekimae course by the station Aug 5–6
Origen e historia
Rooted in the same Tanabata lantern-flushing customs as Aomori Nebuta, Hirosaki's version diverged into its own fan-shaped float style and a more restrained chant — a deliberately different rhythm from Aomori's leaping haneto dancers just 40km away.
Bueno saber
The Aug 5–6 'Ekimae' course runs right by JR Hirosaki Station — the easiest nights for a same-day, no-reservation viewing spot; paid reserved seats (from ¥3,000) go on individual sale from Jun 22, 2026 (as of this writing).
